Peugeot maintains the record with double victory in Germany
A perfect race in perfect conditions saw Peugeot score a 1-2 finish for the 2008 Le Mans Series fourth race at the Nurburgring. In front of 22,000 spectators, Stephane Sarrazin and Pedro Lamy led home their team-mates Marc Gene and Nicolas Minassian, the two diesel-powered prototypes crossing the line 16 seconds apart after 1000kms. The race was completed in five hours, 44 minutes at an average speed of 174km/h (108 mph) around the 5.137km circuit nestled in the Eifel region of Germany.

Some half-race figures
In the middle of the race, some interesting figures:
- the leading car run regularly 34 laps by hour from the beginning of the race
- best time is 1'40"501 as it was 1'44"046 in 2007
- only two cars dropped out in the half race: the Luc Alphand Aventures' Corvette (n°73) and the Pescarolo-Judd n°16
